Local teams take part in Joplin Paige Neal/Christina Freeman Softball Invitational

It was the 20th rendition of the Joplin Paige Neal/Christina Freeman Softball Invitational over the weekend and a local team came away with the Silver Bracket Championship.

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, took first place in the Gold Bracket of the Paige Neal/Christina Freeman Softball Invitational while Webb City took first place in the Silver Bracket, with Neosho taking second.

In pool play, Joplin went 1-2 with a win over Jay, Oklahoma, in Pool A, while Neosho and Webb City went 2-1 in Pool B and Pool C. The Wildcats beat McDonald County and Blue Springs with the Cardinals beating Park Hill South and Ozark.

Webb City beat Neosho and Staley in bracket play to earn the Silver Championship.

Joplin finished the day with a 2-3 record.
