Zimmer Marketing is proud to present our Week 23 Game of the Week with Carl Junction High School playing host for the first time this season as they welcome Marshfield in Ozark Mountain Conference action brought to you by JL Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair.
“The biggest thing about it is it’s our first home game,” Carl Junction coach Todd Hafner said. “It’s a big game for us because right now Marshfield is leading our district. More than anything, just the excitement of the home opener after two pretty long road trips. The kids are excited to be able to play in front of the home crowd.”
The first home game of the season will also be the first Ozark Mountain Conference game for the Bulldogs. After a long-time membership ended with the Central Ozark Conference at the conclusion of last season, CJ is ready to compete with schools similar in size in conference games that matter.
“The move to the new conference was huge when it was first announced back last year,” Hafner said. “It’s one of those things that we feel good about where we are at. We are playing schools our own size and because of that, the excitement to play for a conference championship and things like that are heightened. We are just waiting for the end of the season. Now, we get to play meaningful conference games throughout the regular season.”
Marshfield is coming off of wins over Parkview in Week 1 and Reeds Spring in Week 2, while Carl Junction is coming off a 25-13 win over Heritage, Arkansas, after dropping the season opener to Captial City.
The game is set for 7 p.m. with doors set to open at 5:30 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
