SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Carthage beats Nixa; Joplin, Neosho fall

CARTHAGE 6, NIXA 5

Nixa took a 3-0 lead through three innings only for Carthage to rally with six runs through the middle innings to beat the Eagles on Tuesday.

Addie Wallace earned the complete-game win after allowing five runs, four earned, on 11 hits and five strikeouts.

Brienne Chilton took the loss after allowing six runs, three earned, on eight hits.

Ali Wicklund had two hits and drove in a run for Carthage. Ashlyn Brust had a hit, scored a run and drove in two.

OZARK 13, JOPLIN 2

Ozark scored multiple runs in every inning on the way to a five-inning win on Tuesday.

Kayden McCoy earned the win after allowing two runs on four hits in four innings pitched.

Caelyn Bobski took the loss after allowing six runs, two earned, on seven hits in two innings. 

Jadyn Pankow homered for Joplin (8-7) in the loss. Taylor Love doubled and scored a run.


KICKAPOO 15, NEOSHO 2

After a scoreless first inning, Kickapoo put on a barrage of offense en route to a win over Neosho on Tuesday.

Carleigh Kinnaird took the loss after allowing 15 runs, 12 earned, on 15 hits in six innings.

Autumn and Carleigh Kinnaird each had toe hits in the loss for the Wildcats. Addysan Hart had a hit, drove in one and scored once.
