Carl Junction baseball player Deacon Endicott and Webb City soccer player Dakota Degraffenreid have been named the Zimmer Marketing Male and Female Athletes of the Week brought to you by J.L. Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair.
Endicott, a junior, earned a win on the mound and added a hit, two RBI and a run scored in the box in CJ’s 10-0 victory over Hollister last Thursday before adding four more hits, three runs scored and two RBI over the rest of the weekend to help lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record last week.
Degraffenreid, a junior, was instrumental in her team’s 2-0 start to the season. Against Carl Junction last Tuesday, Degraffenreid had both the Bulldogs’ goals in a 2-1 victory. She also added two goals and an assist in a 9-0 win over McDonald County.
“Dakota suffered a season-ending hamstring injury five games into our season last year, so she was eager to get back on the field,” Carl Junction soccer coach Justin Boudreaux told Joplin Sports Hub. “Her performances last week reflected that … Dakota works so hard on her craft, so it was no surprise to us to see her come out and play like she did. Her determination to score and put pressure on the opposing team’s defense makes her a threat week in and week out.”
