The Missouri Class 1 Sectional 3 Track and Field Meet saw several athletes from McAuley Catholic and Thomas Jefferson advance to Schools, with both teams securing top finishes in multiple events.
BOYS
In the boys' 400-meter dash, McAuley Catholic's Alex Bohachick earned a strong third place (52.92 seconds), while Thomas Jefferson's Jack Twiss took fifth (54.11 seconds).
The 800-meter run was a highlight for both schools, with McAuley Catholic's Michael Parrigon claiming first (1:58.81) and Franklin Veer taking third (2:02.09). Thomas Jefferson's Liam Cook secured second (1:59.91).
The 1600-meter run saw McAuley Catholic's Parrigon dominate with a first-place finish (4:33.97), followed closely by Thomas Jefferson's Will Twiss in second (4:35.46) and Braden Honeywell-Lynch in third (4:39.33).
The 3200-meter run continued this trend, with Twiss (1st, 10:14.16) and Honeywell-Lynch (3rd, 10:19.10) from Thomas Jefferson, and McAuley Catholic's Veer in second (10:15.25).
In relays, McAuley Catholic won the 4x400-meter relay (3:36.90) and the 4x800-meter relay (8:19.82. Thomas Jefferson followed closely, taking second in both the 4x400-meter (3:39.94) and 4x800-meter (8:24.15) relays, and fourth in the 4x200-meter relay (1:36.57). In the 110-meter hurdles, Thomas Jefferson's Sheraz Anis placed eighth (18.38 seconds).
In field events, McAuley Catholic's Roscoe Miller won the javelin (46.53m), with teammate Thomas Perrin placing sixth in the discus (35.76m). Nolan Minor from McAuley Catholic finished sixth in the pole vault (2.59m).
GIRLS
In the girls' 400-meter dash, McAuley Catholic's Ellie Bohachick placed sixth (1:08.15). The 800-meter run saw McAuley Catholic's Olivia Parrigon take second (2:28.60), with Thomas Jefferson's Macie Shifferd earning fourth (2:34.67). Shifferd continued her strong performance in the 1600-meter run, finishing second (5:44.81), while in the 3200-meter run, she claimed first (12:36.29).
Thomas Jefferson dominated the relays, winning the 4x100-meter (54.87 seconds) and 4x200-meter (1:55.06) relays, and taking second in the 4x400-meter relay (4:31.35) and third in the 4x800-meter relay (10:48.41). McAuley Catholic secured fourth in the 4x800-meter relay (10:49.27) and fifth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:39.60).
In field events, McAuley Catholic's Samantha Conrad took fourth in the discus (29.36m). Thomas Jefferson's Anna Hiebert placed fourth in the long jump (4.6m).
