New Heights Christian baseballs’ historic season came to an end over the weekend after falling 10-6 to Miller in the Class 2 state sectionals.
The Cougars end the season with an 18-7 record, the most wins in program history.
New Heights Christian graduates seniors Jayce Walker, Josh Anderson, Liam Nelson, Kaleb Kennedy, Smoke Ezell and Levi Durling.
Miller scored in each of the first three innings, including two runs in the second and six in the third to build an insurmountable lead.
Liam Nelson doubled and drove in two for NHCA. Kaleb Kennedy had a hit and scored twice in the loss.
Jase Wilkinson earned the win for Miller after allowing two runs, one earned, in five hits, striking out 15.
Brodrick Burns took the loss for NHCA after allowing seven runs, one earned, in 2 1/3 innings.
