Joplin rolls through Abilene for twinbill sweep

Joplin pushed runs across in all but two innings of an 11-1 win in Game 1 before building and early lead in Game 2 and pulling away for a 7-2 win to sweep the doubleheader on Saturday at Joe Becker Stadium.

GAME 1

Murchael Turner and Maverick Williamson each homered for the Outlaws in the five-inning win. Turner drove in three and scored twice, while Williamson drove in two and scored a run. Tyler Brodrick had three hits and scored twice.

Cole Gayman earned the win after allowing one run on three hits with six strikeouts in five frames.

JT Drake took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in four innings.

GAME 2

Tyler Brodrick, Murchael Turner and Cy Darnell each had two hits and drove in a run in the win for the Outlaws. 

Easton Renn earned the win on the mound for Joplin after allowing two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Brayden Marx took the loss after allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits in three innings.
