Outlaws beat Sherman 7-1 for seventh straight win

The Joplin Outlaws used a pair of three-run innings to fuel a 7-1 win over the Sherman Shadowcats on Wednesday at Joe Becker Stadium.

Joplin took the initial lead with a run in the first inning before pushing across three runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth to pull away to victory.

The Outlaws currently sit in first place of the Mid-America League Standings with a 23-7 record, winners of seven straight games.

Will Newberry earned the win after limiting Sherman to one run on four hits in five innings.

Tristian Duke took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits in four innings.

In the fourth inning, Joplin used RBI singles from Carson Hilton, Blake Wilson and Ravaughn Morgan to push their advantage to 4-0.

Morgan added another RBI single in the sixth before Tyler Brodrick added a two-run single to make the score 7-1.
