“First game of the year, we had a lot of nerves,” Joplin coach Emily Killion said. “We have a lot of players who just played their first varsity game. It was definitely not a reflection of what we are capable of. We took a set off Nevada at our jamboree, so hopefully we got all of our nerves out of our system and we will be ready to practice harder and move forward to show people what we can do and build consistency this season."
