Joplin pitcher Ava Wolf and Joplin running back Traevian McCadney are this week's Zimmer Marketing Male and Female Athletes of the Week are brought to you by JL Mobile Trailer Truck and Repair.
Wolf, a senior, earned a pair of wins in the circle in the Aurora Kickoff Classic to help lead the Eagles to a 4-0 start to the season. Wolf pitched a complete-game shutout against Carl Junction, scattering three hits. She also added a one-hit shutout win against Hillcrest. At the plate, Wolf added five hits, six RBI and scored three times over the weekend out of the leadoff spot.
McCadney, a senior, had a memorable opening night for the Eagles in their Week 1 win over Kickapoo. He carried the ball 27 times and gained 205 yards on the ground to go along with a pair of touchdowns. He averaged 7.6 yards per carry.
