Carthage Dominates Girls Golf Invitational; Foust leads the way

DIAMOND, MO — The Carthage girls golf team claimed a commanding victory at the George Washington Carver National Monument Girls Golf Invitational, posting a team score of 365 to secure first place. 

Carl Junction followed in second with 392, while Webb City A rounded out the top three with 401. 

Carthage’s depth proved unbeatable, with four players finishing in the top 10. Addie Foust led the way, earning medalist honors with an impressive 75 (40-35), the only player to break 80. Teammates Molly Comer (93), Brooke Detherage (98), and Bella Holmes (99) bolstered the Tigers’ score. 

Carl Junction, finishing 27 strokes back at 392, was paced by Lyric Belcher’s stellar 84 (43-41), earning her second place individually. Rylie Matyi (92) and Katie Miller (107) also contributed strong rounds.

Webb City A, scoring 401, saw Violet Haut lead with a 90 (44-46), supported by Irelynn Miles (96) and Clare Zahm (107).

Foust, Belcher, Satterlee Top the Field 

Joplin’s Scarlett Satterlee claimed third with an 89 (43-46), a gritty performance that anchored the Eagles’ fourth-place team finish (406).

Rounding out the top 20 were:

  • 4th: Violet Haut (Webb City A) – 90 (44-46)

  • 5th: Rylie Matyi (Carl Junction) – 92 (45-47)

  • 6th: Molly Comer (Carthage) – 93 (47-46)

  • 7th: Irelynn Miles (Webb City A) – 96 (47-49)

  • 8th (tie): Brooke Detherage (Carthage) – 98 (46-52); Raygan Allgood (McDonald County) – 98 (50-48)

  • 10th (tie): Bella Holmes (Carthage) – 99 (54-45); Sammi Dowd (McDonald County) – 99 (48-51)

  • 12th: Milana DeCrescenzo (Carthage) – 100 (50-50)

  • 13th (tie): Grace Weston (Neosho A) – 102 (52-50); Ava Horton (Joplin) – 102 (53-49)

  • 15th: Ava Benedict (Joplin) – 103 (52-51)

  • 16th: Kaylynn Pruitt (Neosho A) – 104 (53-51)

  • 17th (tie): Braeli Hoover (Carthage) – 106 (54-52); Ellie Olson (Seneca) – 106 (56-50)
