MONETT, Mo. – The Thomas Jefferson girls tennis team continued their stellar start to the 2025 season, defeating Monett 8-1 on the road Tuesday, boosting their record to an undefeated 3-0.
The Cavaliers showcased their depth and skill in singles, sweeping all six matches. Esther Yang led the way at No. 1 singles, outlasting Elizabeth Smith in a tightly contested 9-7 battle. Sara Maksoud secured an 8-3 victory over Serenity Laning at No. 2, while Madelyn Ro dispatched Ruby Smith 8-2 at No. 3. Jenna Joseph battled to an 8-6 win over Abbey Gaines at No. 4, and Lucy Lowery dominated Adriana Reyes 8-0 at No. 5. Audrey Bowles rounded out the singles sweep, defeating Zoey Lynn 8-6 at No. 6.
In doubles, Thomas Jefferson continued their strong performance, taking two of three matches. The No. 2 duo of Ro and Joseph cruised to an 8-2 win over Ruby Smith and Gaines, and the No. 3 pair of Lowery and Bowles matched that scoreline against Reyes and Lynn. The lone loss came at No. 1 doubles, where Yang and Maksoud fell 3-8 to Elizabeth Smith and Laning.
