WEBB CITY, MO – The Webb City volleyball team showcased their prowess, cruising to a commanding 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-18, and 25-13) over Republic at home.

The Cardinals’ attack was led by junior outside hitter Jaylee VanBecelaere, who tallied 12 points, including 8 kills on 29 attempts (.172 hitting percentage) and a block, while also contributing 11 digs defensively. Addy Maxwell was another standout, adding 8 points with 8 kills on 23 attempts (.304 hitting percentage) and 5 digs. Marlee Harper anchored the middle with 10 points, including 6 kills and 3 blocks, showcasing her presence at the net.

Setter Savannah Crane orchestrated the offense masterfully, dishing out 26 assists while adding 3 kills and a block for 5 points. Her steady hand helped Webb City maintain a .238 team hitting percentage, with the offense peaking in the third set at .278. The Cardinals’ defense was equally impressive, amassing 72 digs, led by libero Avery Gardner’s 20 digs and 12 receptions. The team also recorded 8 total blocks, with Kaelyn Maxwell and Harper combining for 6.

Republic struggled to keep pace, as Webb City’s balanced attack and stifling defense limited their opportunities. The Cardinals’ serving was another key factor, with 7 service aces, including 2 from Allie Collard and 1 each from Gardner, VanBecelaere, Harper, Crane, and Avery Pogue.

The match, played before an enthusiastic home crowd, saw Webb City improve their efficiency each set, culminating in a dominant third set where they allowed just 13 points. With this win, the Cardinals continue to build momentum in their 2025 campaign, proving they are a force to be reckoned with in the conference.

Webb City will look to carry this energy into their next match, as they aim to keep their record soaring. Fans can catch the Cardinals in action again soon as they continue their pursuit of a championship season.
