SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Bill & Payne Stewart Golf Course (par 70) hosted the Missouri Class 4 District 3 Girls Golf Tournament, where teams from Carthage, Joplin, and Neosho took part in a competitive field of 17 schools. 

While Raymore-Peculiar claimed the top spot with a team score of 314, followed by Springfield Catholic (321) and Glendale (343), local teams Carthage, Joplin, and Neosho battled hard, finishing 5th, 14th, and 16th, respectively.

Carthage Shines with Top-10 Individual Performance

Carthage posted a team score of 357, securing fifth place. Leading the Tigers was senior Addie Foust, who delivered an impressive round of 79, tying for seventh lace individually. Sophomore Molly R. Comer contributed an 88, tying for 24th, while juniors Bella O. Holmes (94) and Milana Ray DeCrescenzo Ball (99) added depth to the team’s effort. Senior Brooklynn P. Detherage rounded out the scoring with a 96. Carthage’s performance signals a strong foundation as they aim for state qualification.

Joplin Shows Promise with Satterlee’s Standout Round

Joplin finished 14th with a team score of 420, led by senior Scarlett June Satterlee’s exceptional round of 81, tying for 9th place individually. Senior Ava Lee Benedict (105) and junior Ava Jeanette Horton (112) provided additional support, though the team struggled to find consistency. Seniors Reid Elizabeth Stanley (122) and Leighton Davis (130) completed Joplin’s lineup. 

Neosho Battles Tough Conditions

Neosho placed 16th with a team score of 437. Junior Grace Marble Weston led the Wildcats with a 100, tying for 50th place. Senior Kaylynn Dawn Pruitt (107) and sophomore Jolie Bond (111) showed resilience, while sophomores Aspen Drake (119) and Isabella Bentz (125) gained valuable tournament experience.
