NEOSHO WILDCATS OUTLAST LEE’S SUMMIT

NEOSHO, Mo. — The Neosho Wildcats dominated the Lee’s Summit Tigers with a convincing 7-1 victory on Monday evening in the Class 5 District 6 Tournament semifinals.

The Wildcats advance to the district title game with a matchup against Ray-Pec at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Neosho took control early, scoring five runs in the third inning to set the tone. The Wildcats added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings, while holding the Tigers to just 1 run in the fourth.

Autumn Kinnaird led Neosho with a 3-for-4 performance, including three RBIs, while Journey Arnall went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored. 

Olivia Emery delivered a stellar pitching performance, throwing seven innings, allowing three hits and an unearned run with 12 strikeouts.

CASSVILLE BEATS SENECA IN DISTRICT TITLE GAME

CASSVILLE, Mo. — The Cassville Lady Wildcats defeated the Seneca Lady Indians 4-0 on Monday to claim the Class 3 District 6 championship.

Junior pitcher Aubrey Stouffer shone with a five-hit shutout, striking out nine in a chilly night game, avenging last year’s sectional loss.

Cassville struck early with Tomi Blankenship scoring on Tyra Sturgell’s single (1-0), added runs via Lilli Nau and Brianna Still (2-0), then sealed it with Sturgell’s RBI double and a Seneca error (4-0). 

Seneca stranded five, with Kylie Summer taking the loss. 

BELTON BEATS MCDONALD COUNTY MUSTANGS IN DISTRICT TITLE GAME 

BELTON, Mo. — The Belton Pirates edged out the McDonald County Mustangs in a thrilling 8-7 final on Monday evening in the Class 4 District 7 title game. 

The Pirates jumped to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning, while the Mustangs responded with two runs. 

Belton maintained their momentum, adding two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth, securing an 8-2 advantage by the seventh. 

McDonald County mounted a late comeback, scoring five runs in the seventh inning, but fell short as the Pirates held on for the 8-7 win.
