Carthage Wrestling Teams Sweep Rival Webb City in Thrilling Duals

Both Carthage wrestling teams delivered a team win over longtime rival Webb City on Tuesday night. The Tigers' boys squad edged the Cardinals 42-38, while the Tiger girls dominated with a convincing 53-23 win. The combined event, featuring junior high wrestlers alongside the varsity teams, drew one of the largest crowds of the season.

The Tigers boys teams won eight matches, including six by fall, highlighted by quick pins from Kixson Reynolds (113 lbs., 1:07), Adam Jones (126 lbs., 3:03), Grady Huntley (132 lbs., 1:09), Jace Nichols (138 lbs., 3:32), and Douglas Ball (144 lbs., 3:19). Leighton Butterworth (106 lbs.) and Anthony Smith (190 lbs.) picked up forfeits to add crucial points.

Webb City fought back with strong performances, including falls from Lemuel Glaubitz (120 lbs., 4:46), Carson Rooks (150 lbs., 1:03), and Louden Bolinger (285 lbs., 0:07), but Carthage's depth proved decisive in the narrow victory.

The girls' match was far more one-sided, as Carthage claimed 10 wins to Webb City's four. The Tigers racked up six pins and two technical falls, led by dominant performances from Hadley White (105 lbs., fall 3:51), Mischa Drackert (110 lbs., fall 3:33), Emely Hernandez Guzman (135 lbs., fall 3:40), Kaylee James (140 lbs., TF 16-0), Irish Lee (145 lbs., fall 2:40), and Arianna Medrano (170 lbs., fall 0:26). Diana Juarez (125 lbs.), Taleah Salguero (130 lbs.), and Adrianna Patrick (190 lbs.) added forfeit victories.

Webb City earned wins from Neveah Friely (115 lbs., fall 4:29), Ivy Nobis (120 lbs., TF 21-4), Maddie Barchak (155 lbs., fall 0:46), and Mackenzie Booth (235 lbs., fall 0:46).
