KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The St. Pius X Warriors delivered a commanding performance Wednesday night, defeating the visiting Joplin Eagles 66-12 in a wrestling dual meet.
Highlights for St. Pius X included quick falls by Greyson Kittle (120 lbs) in 1:15, Dylan Hall (132 lbs) in 1:07, George Bringus (138 lbs) in 1:17, and Boyer Ward (150 lbs) in 1:04. Easton Massey earned a hard-fought 19-15 decision at 165 lbs, while Kyler Kuhn capped the night with a pin at heavyweight (285 lbs) in 1:52.
Joplin avoided the shutout with back-to-back victories in the upper weights. Judah Meridith sparked the Eagles at 190 lbs with a pin in 1:13 over Anthony Amador, followed by Gryphon Price's rapid 45-second fall over Stone Searcey at 215 lbs.
The loss drops Joplin's dual record as they continue their season, while St. Pius X strengthens its standing among Missouri's top programs with another decisive win.
