Joplin basketball player Alissa Owens and Thomas Jefferson basketball player Jack Twiss have been named the Zimmer Marketing Female and Male Athletes of the Week brought to you by JL Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair.
Owens, a senior, recorded a career milestone against Carthage. She knocked down four 3-pointers on the way to a 15-point effort, surpassing 1,000-career points in the process.
Twiss, a junior, also recorded the major career scoring milestone in a 76-27 win over Verona. Twiss poured in 20 points to surpass the 1,000-point scoring mark for his career.
