Carthage Lady Tigers Open Season with Tough Losses

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage High School girls soccer team kicked off its 2026 season at the Branson Tournament over the weekend, suffering three shutout defeats before returning home and dropping a heartbreaker in double overtime to rival Carl Junction.

In Branson, the Lady Tigers were unable to find the net against strong competition:

  • vs. Kearney: 0-8 loss

  • vs. Bolivar: 0-2 loss

  • vs. Rogers (Ark.): 0-3 loss

Following the Branson trip, Carthage hosted Carl Junction on Thursday in a tightly contested rivalry match. The two teams battled through a scoreless regulation and first overtime before Carl Junction broke through with a goal in the second overtime period to secure a 1-0 victory. The Lady Bulldogs earned their first win of the season in dramatic fashion, while the Lady Tigers fell to 0-4 overall.
