Thomas Jefferson track and field athlete Esther Yang and Seneca track and field athlete Brock Pendergraft have been named the Zimmer Marketing Male and Female Athletes of the Week brought to you by JL Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair.
Yang, a junior, had an impressive day at the Bordertown Relays rack and field meet, showcasing her speed and versatility across multiple events. She placed fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 13.73 seconds. Esther then teamed up with Anna Hiebert, Aubrey Freeborg, and Haley Orr to win the 4x100m relay in 53.51 seconds, setting a new school record. In the 400m dash, she dominated the competition by finishing first place with a time of 1:42.99, also breaking the school record. Finally, she anchored the 4x400m relay alongside Aubrey Freeborg, Haley Orr, and Kirra Moser, helping the team secure a strong second-place finish.
Pendergraft, a senior, delivered a standout performance for the host Seneca at the Bordertown Relays. Pendergraft claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 14.27 meters, setting a new meet record, and dominated the javelin with a winning toss of 48.15 meters. He also earned second place in the discus with a solid mark of 41.68 meters.
