Carl Junction concluded its season on Saturday afternoon following a 4-1 loss to Capital City in the Class 3 State Quarterfinals.
The Bulldogs struck first on their home field, taking an early 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal from Grace Carrier. Goalkeeper Jadyn Howard preserved the lead with several key saves before Capital City managed to equalize, sending the game into halftime tied 1-1.
The turning point came midway through the second half during an hour-long weather delay. After play resumed, the Cavaliers took control, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the victory and advance to the Class 3 State Semifinals.
