SENECA, Mo. — The Nevada Lady Tigers took care of business on the road Tuesday night, dismantling Seneca in straight sets, 3-0.
Nevada turned the final frame into a clinic.
Holding a commanding match lead, the Lady Tigers put their foot on the gas early in the third. Brinley Erwin caught Seneca flat-footed, tipping a ball over the net for a clean kill to ignite the run. Moments later, Allison Forsythe stepped behind the service line and drilled an ace, pushing Nevada's lead to a lopsided 19-3.
Seneca scratched back briefly. Marylynn Gil found daylight with a sharp cross-court kill, but Nevada answered immediately at the net. Kierston Eador rose above the tape for a one-handed block, turning away an Indian attack and shutting down any momentum.
Gil managed one more kill for Seneca late to reach a 24-9 count, but it only delayed the inevitable.
Natalie Hope rose up on match point and drove home the set-winning kill, wrapping up the sweep and sealing a dominant night for the Lady Tigers.
