NEOSHO, Mo. — Webb City erupted for a five-run fourth inning and never looked back Tuesday, cruising past Neosho 13-2 on the road.
Neosho struck first in the early frames when Sadee Leach pushed across the game’s opening run on an RBI groundout. That 1-0 edge was short-lived.
Brecklyn Sargent flipped the momentum in the top of the fourth, launching a two-run homer to put the Lady Cardinals ahead 2-1. Webb City wasn't done. Later in the frame, the Cardinals cleared the bases with a three-run shot, stretching the margin to 5-1 and chasing Wildcats starter Harper Wheeler off her rhythm.
Aggressive baserunning down the stretch yielded two more runs before Webb City blew the game wide open late.
Webb City heads to Carthage next, while Neosho looks to rebound on the road against Willard.
