Avery Burns silenced the bats and flipped the script Thursday night, striking out 11 over six dominant innings to power Webb City to a 12-3 comeback victory over Carthage.
After falling behind early, the Lady Cardinals ripped open the game with relentless run support, turning a deficit into a rout. Burns took care of the rest from the circle. She surrendered just two hits across six frames, keeping the Lady Tigers off-balance and out of contention once Webb City seized the lead.
The win pushes Webb City to 18-9-1 on the season, while Carthage drops to 9-16.
Both squads stay on the road for their next matchups. Webb City travels to Monett on Oct. 5, and Carthage heads to Joplin on Oct. 6.
