High school football across the Ozarks delivered lopsided scoreboards and defensive fireworks on Friday night, highlighted by Seneca's offensive clinic and a chaotic, sixty-second scoring frenzy from Carl Junction.
Seneca 58, Aurora 8
Seneca wasted no time turning Friday’s matchup into a rout, steamrolling Aurora 58-8 behind a relentless rushing attack. The victory marks the Indians’ fourth straight win.
Quarterback Klay Davidson set the tone early. Davidson found the end zone twice before halftime, stretching Aurora’s defense and putting Seneca firmly in control. Running back Silas Ball matched his quarterback stride for stride, punching in two first-half scores on the ground to put the contest out of reach before the teams headed to the locker rooms.
Every phase clicked for the Indians, who controlled the line of scrimmage from the opening drive and never looked back.
Carl Junction 55, Parkview 18
For three quarters, Carl Junction and Parkview were locked in a defensive slugfest.
Then came the fourth quarter.
Holding a narrow 14-6 edge entering the final frame, the Bulldogs unleashed their most explosive offensive and defensive showing of the fall, racking up 41 fourth-quarter points to run away with a 55-18 road victory.
The turning point was pure chaos: four combined touchdowns in the span of just 60 seconds.
Carl Junction blew the contest wide open with three straight non-offensive scores. In rapid succession, the Bulldogs reached the end zone on an interception return, scooped up a fumble for another defensive score, and capped the stretch by taking a punt return all the way to the house. The flurry stunned Parkview and turned an eight-point nail-biter into a blowout before the stadium clock could tick past the eleven-minute mark.
By the time the dust settled, Carl Junction had notched its highest single-game point total of the season.
